iPad Keyboard Cover in the Works, Says Former Apple Employee

Apple is currently testing prototypes of different iPad keyboard covers that may get announced at tomorrows iPad event, according to former Apple employee Jamie Ryan. He says that hes been talking with several current Apple employees about the new products and says that the company has been testing keyboard cover prototypes for a while.

Its possible the iPad keyboard covers could be a lot like the companys Smart Covers, where they clip on via magnets on the side of the iPad, and the keyboard would connect over Bluetooth. Essentially, they would be reminiscent of Microsofts Surface keyboard covers, although it may more closely match the keyboard covers that weve been seeing from companies like Logitech and Belkin, although Apple has had a way of implementing unique designs.

Of course, its not known whether or not these prototypes are close to being done, so we may not see them during tomorrows event. Furthermore, its noted that Apple prototypes a lot of new stuff all the time, and it usually scraps a lot of it. With that said, were taking this with a big grain of salt, but we certainly wouldnt be surprised if Apple announced its own keyboard cover during tomorrows event.
